I know it sounds weird, but I always feel bad when I see a little kitten on the ground. I think about how sad my daughter was to lose a mitten.

And now I can smell those snow encrusted mittens drying on the school radiators. They always were wool, so the snow would ball up in them, and when they began to thaw: I swear they smelled of sheep!
