axe.

Standard

just another skill

acquired during the pandemic

my son-in-law built an axe throwing target

as something to do for fun

 showed me how to throw

i’m definitely not a natural

but kept trying

 finally got it to stick

my aim is not great

which might make me

even more dangerous

but that’s for another day.

  1. I find this very scary! What happened to dart throwing? Throwing axes…. whatever next! This sounds like a terrible film I would never watch because I’d be riddled with nightmares for years.

    • i probably would never do this competitively, (chances are high), just to see if i could learn to do it, but it is a more of an unusual pastime these days. there are even axe throwing bars where people go to socialize and have a beer and throw. somehow it works, but seems like a bit of a scary combo.

    • well, it became a personal challenge, and once I tried, I was determined to get one to stick. not on my list, just happened upon it in their backyard one day, but glad it did it. )

  3. A good way to ensure people keep a safe distance away! 😏

There was a wonderful segment in an episode of The Good Fight where Christine Baranski’s character goes to an axe-throwing place because she’s fed up with everything.

  4. Gotta love those newly acquired pandemic skills! It’s good to learn something new, although the “my aim is not great which might make me even more dangerous” comment is a tad worrisome. Especially if one were to get on your wrong side! And good luck with your future aim … practice does make perfect.
