At first glance I thought they were pieces of ice.
The quotation is from Emerson’s essay “Nature,” in a paragraph that begins by talking about “the Unity of Nature,—the Unity in Variety,—which meets us everywhere.”
We’re amazed of how observant my 3-year-old granddaughter is and how she finds fun and enjoyment over every little thing! We need to take a break of grown-up life and go back to the simplicity of childhood.
This is “old” knowledge and so many still don’t understand it. I wish teachers read Emerson to children in grade school. I’ll have to talk to Jennie about that. 😉 Love this so much!
Oh so sweet.

You are a wizard to see through a child’s eyes. We ordinary folks see ice. You and children see crystals.

Waking up and seeing frozen puddles is always a good start to the day for a child.

I loved collecting ice crystals and comparing them when I was a child. The quote is great to see in that relation.
