my wall plug looks quite content
and has a story to tell.Β
—
“it seemed to me at an early age that all human communication-
whether it’s tv, movies, books –
begins with somebody wanting to tell a story.
that need to tell, to plug into a universal socket,
is probably one of our grandest desires. and the need to hear stories,
to live lives other than our own for even the briefest moment,
is the key to the magic that was born in our bones.”

We ARE stories, all of us. However, we are not all plug receptacles. Well, perhaps metaphorically. It’s the connections that count.

You are right: our history and all cultures around the world engage in storytelling…I will be sharing a story soon that includes a drawing on a rock surface that is thousands of years off, and it was telling a story…

I think you are 100% right about this. I’ve always been interested in other’s stories and on occasion so wanted to tell my own. We are wired to plug in. What an awareness!
