if you look closely
just to the left
of the little blue suitcase
you’ll find
a curious young boy
hiding amongst
the summer holiday
window display
the best part of it all
safe behind the glass
peeking out into the world
eyes open and full of wonder.

Where else would you find a curious little boy but in a window full of curiosities?

🙂 We were all that little boy once.
I wonder when that curiosity was lost for some. Was it with one fatal snip? Or did it just gradually fade away.
Sigh! So many lost opportunities. 😦

hopefully a bit of it remains in all of us

how I love this! Both, what your eyes see, the fact that you spied the little boy so full of joie-de-vivre and mischievousness, and your posting him with the perfect quote. What a marriage! Have my blessings 🙂

At first I wasn’t sure if that was his reflection from standing outside looking in, or inside looking out. Whichever, that is a happy soul!

inside looking out, it does look kind of ambiguous

He looks almost like a mirage, an image of time gone by – and yet there he is, like the wonder of childhood, in amongst the memories of you look hard enough.
Thank you for another wondrous post. 🙏
