Waldeinsamkeit–In Which We Discuss Finding Peace in the Woods. a fascinating German word–“Waldeinsamkeit.” There is not a direct English translation, but generally speaking, it means the peaceful feeling of finding solitude in the woods.

Barb, I think there is, WALDBAD, you go into the woods/forest and you bathe your lungs, your soul, your body and mind.
You get all calm, you leave refreshed in mind, you’re serene and calm….. it’s what woods and happy stampedes of bluebells, and whatever all those pretty woodflowers are called in English do to your system….

We walked along a two mile stretch of deserted beach every day last week and it was so peaceful…walking through a forest is equally as calming indeed…
