watching this very moving play
at the historic fisher theatre
as a story of people
who have always felt outsiders
unheard, unloved, and unseen
plays out before us
in words, in actions, in music
where the audience sits in total silence
and cries.
—
“Even when the dark comes crashing through,
when you need a friend to carry you and when you are broken on the ground,
you will be found.”
-You Will Be Found, ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.

When the audience is completely silent, you just know that’s a great play.
Best wishes, Pete.

That’s exactly what happened. We all seemed just taken in by it. It is also a film and book

I’ve not seen the show but the lead actor sang one of the big songs on a late night tv show and reduced me to tears.

We should always try to place ourselves in someone else’s skin and then we wouldn’t judge so quickly.. must have been quite a powerful and intensive play…

I know the atmosphere you’re describing when you can feel the collective feelings of an audience sitting in near silence.
