when you’re little
walking around the museum
see a big old bumpy boring rock
walk around to the front of it
find an amazing, amazing surprise
that is inside of it
you just have to touch it
there are no words.

Not all rocks
Are not just rocks
Some old rocks
When you study their socks
And listen to their knees knock
“Have rocked around the clock”

I used to collect rocks that look like that, but never came across any quite that big lol. Yeah, I’d be reaching out to touch that rock as well!

it’s in Michigan at the Cranbrook Institute of Science, where they have a large rock and gem collection

I might get to Michigan this summer. If so I will have to see if it is anywhere near where I am going; I love rocks and gems (especially those I find)!
