Yes, Beth, a vending machine where the product does not get hung up on those maddening coils … better yet, a holiday to put candy right in the pails of our little neighbors!

I used to get a bit irritated when the teens came around to get the candy. Until my own two became teens and still loved Halloween. (and they still shared their goodies with me. :) )

We haven’t had a trick-or-treater in over twenty years. Some years, I miss ’em. Some years I don’t.

I don’t have nearly as many, but still enjoy it

Not that long ago everybody went to the mall for Halloween because door-to-door was too dangerous. Now their back at our doors. What changed?

I think there was a return to the value of neighborhoods and knowing the people who live there

This is one thing I’ll never understand.
In France, truly naughty teens destroyed our ‘door opener and speech exchange’…. our house was a long staircase and 100m from the entry gate. We were not amused ☹️

So sorry, I’m just thinking in terms of kids getting candy, not destroying things – that’s terrible

Haha, I love the atmosphere at Halloween in the US. All the decorations and then Halloween itself. I love it!

Always been my favorite. Our staff used to dress up every year following some theme. My favorite was when we all came as school supplies.

If next week is candy rain, this week must be candy clouds a gathering!
Your post on kindness is reverberating. I’ve always had a kind streak in me, but still was not a Mother Teresa.
yes, some memories haunt.
Funny, but I think of cats, more than people.
I could have been kinder to more cats that passed through my life.
I never hurt them, or anything like that.
My parents taught me not good things about animals, and respect for them.
Anyway, that’s different now, and has been for a long time.
Be kind to people! Be kind to animals!
Lotsa neat posts here, Beth, thank you!
