we loved watching the partridge family show growing up
it had everything
music, family, adventure, comedy, teen idols
recently
i ran into a real partridge family
following mom
into the tall grass
i was instantly transported
back to that happy, fun, tv family
the flock of kids
following mom onto the family bus.
“I guess every family has to have a black sheep. I always thought ours was Keith.”

I considered myself too old back then to watch the TV show, but I do remember that it made David Cassidy the biggest teen idol in Britain for a very long time.
Best wishes, Pete.

Of course I watched the Partridge Family growing up, Beth, since you and I unknowingly shared a brain from so many states away …

You just brought me back to happy weekly viewing. I so loved that show. And how lovely for you to cross paths with a real partridge family!

I hunger for good clean entertainment. There was no remote control way back when and nobody minded getting up and changing the channel.
I don’t have anything I watch regularly now … except the news and weather. I go back far enough that I can remember listening to the radio shows at night before bedtime.

That’s a cute analogy, Beth. These are Northern Bobwhite or quail.

I love it when you share stuff like this – takes me back. I had a couple of their albums and loved watching the show. I had a crush on Susan Dey… had no idea she was on L.A. Law! Way to channel your inner Ferris!

I don’t remember any stories about Laurie (Susan Dey). Do you?

it seemed to really be focused on David Cassidy

I know, and secondarily on Shirley Jones and Danny Bonaduce. Susan had to wait until “L. A. Law,” I guess…

If you get a chance, watch the Cowsills doc. The PF was based on them. Except they weren’t happy.

Thanks for the memories – remember the sign on the back of the bus? Caution – nervous mother driving!

LOVED this show. Had the opportunity to see David Cassidy perform at Edgewater Amusement Park w-a-a-y back when. Good stuff.

I was not a fan of the TV family but I sure think this little wild family is adorable. Hope there weren’t any kitties around, although I love them too.

funnily we never watched this: our favourite which brought the whole family together was ‘Little house on the Prairie’ and a little later, the Aussie soap ‘Home And Away’, still going :)
