reading instruction.

the cat tower building instructions had me wondering

why do the people in the examples look like friendly ghosts and what are they doing?

i think these pictures meant:

‘warning!

when you open the box of parts

do not throw this instruction manual into the trash

because you will need it

or else you,

(the other ghost, not the throw-away-er,)

might get hurt while building the tower.’

if i interpreted it right. 

i really needed instructions for the instructions. 

luckily, i did not throw the instructions away

 my daughter built the tower without incident or injury. 

close call.

  3. i despair regularly with those instruction lists. the worst so far is a looooong list of instructions for a reading lamp to assemble that is written in such tiny letters that even with a strong magnifying glass i can only wonder ‚what‘ is written – ideal for ppl who need said lamp because their eye sight is appalling….

  7. They are often so funny, yet instructions are very useful…. I am a stickler for instructions, my partner isn’t. I alwyas think they are there for a reason. We did have some hickup doing it his way, hence you learn to follow instructions.
    You don’t want to have items leftover afterwards.

  8. When I was doing my Plumbing apprenticeship under my Dad, he told me one day when I was battling away installing a gas heater, “Well, my boy, when all else fails, I suggest reading the booklet of instructions. It would be a handy way to save time and correct your f— up!”

  9. That is one fancy cat tower! Very lucky cat(s)! The instructions are pretty funny. Good thing your daughter figures it all out well and without incident. I would’ve asked my hubby to do it for me instead. 😆

  10. I like how you describe the characters as friendly ghosts. And your interpretation sounds spot on. Let’s try to be smiley ghosts instead of frowny ghosts (because they might turn to haunting people after their frustration over having damaged the cat tower) 👻

    • I do too, and I think I remember you saying you sometimes have trouble with directions while driving or getting somewhere as well? Yes, I do too, and those kind of things go together.

  19. Wow, my cat would kill for that tower. His is maybe ⅔ the height of yours. I assembled it relatively easily, though not quickly, with only one backtrack necessary and no extraneous parts when I finished. My cat was not as appreciative as I’d hoped.

  26. This set of instructions doesn’t look too bad. Some are pages long in suchg small print that you can’t even tell what parts they’re referring to.

  30. Well of course now we have to see the finished cat tower and I agree with a previous comment…save the box…cats love those too! :) The ghosts? Too funny! Chris
