‘for sale – text ‘bed’
—
when out walking
I came across this unusual setup
a bed for sale under an open tent
in someone’s yard
an outdoor showroom of sorts
makes it easy to see
no potential customers
have to trod through your house
maybe a winning strategy
hopefully no sideways rain
or sleet or snow
fingers crossed
this will be
a quick sale
a perfect fit
just what someone is looking for
will they want to sleep out there one night?
see if it is comfortable?
will they want to jump on it?

maybe for a short nap along the way -)

I presume they have trust in the long-range weather forecast? But the fact that some of the mattress support slats are under the bed is something of a ‘merchandising fail’. 😊
Best wishes, Pete.

probably not the best plan, but they must have a lot of faith in the process –

I would set up a camera to see if animals are curling up there when no one looking

I’m guessing that they are!

Unusual setup for sure. Someone spent some time making that happen – I would think that simple step of care makes it such an attractive offering. You’ll have to let us know how long it takes! :)

I know, I feel like they are trusting, gentle souls, who are trying to make it easy. I’m curious to see how it will go. it could go in so many directions. of course the squirrel in my brain can picture so many scenarios)

So funny – I have a squirrel in my brain too. Think they’re related? :)

I was thinking ‘squirrels’ at first sight…. not in my brain, on the bed ;)

I do have a friend who turned his deck into a bedroom with only a small overhang for protection from the weather and he slept outside in all seasons for years, But it looked a lot more inviting than the bed pictured!

well, he is just too pampered, obviously-)

What a smart idea! I would go for that bed frame – definitely chuck the mattress, though.

Beats having people knocking on your door all day. And if the weather turns they can just drop the sidewalls and close up the tent.

or, as dale said, just ditch the mattress, and buy the bed –

That’s a fun poetic story about the bed. It is an interesting way of selling a bed.

I pictured that and laughed. Would be really funny.
Lovely sales idea though

The text describes with humor and simplicity the curious scene of a bed for sale outdoors. Beyond the practical, it plays with the idea that selling is not just about offering objects, but also small dreams.

I think I’d pass, but it’s a clever set-up, for sure. I think Annette has the right idea – a great bed for any critters.
