I like the poster and the quote.
It’s amazing how things have shifted so much so that wanting basic rights for all is now seen as radical.

Gotta make empathy the norm again, like back in the day when everyone looked aghast at sociopaths. Here’s hoping May Day participants move the needle a little. Lord knows the North Carolina legislature should be taking better care of our teachers and students.

God, I used to hate May Day. Growing up in Hawaii, it was Lei Day, and throughout elementary school, I was always forced to do some lame aloha-themed recital. I have no beef with it nowadays, of course—especially when it advocates protest!

I confess my thoughts are always divided on May 1 because today is my sister’s birthday. But yes, empathy worldwide would be a giant step forward. And for those who can’t summon empathy, respect. (It’s in my avatar for a reason.)

What “radicalized” me? Hmm…I need to think about that. Likely Orwell, Bradbury, Huxley, and 70/80s music about injustice and just being a Gen Xer generally left to my own devices.
