before i went to sleep
i was working out transportation details
involving getting to the airport
for an upcoming trip.
as i slept
my brain was continuing to work on the solution
luckily, my dream showed me exactly what to do:
i decided to just take a snowmobile
drive it right to the airport
but alas
i had left a bit too late
so i drove it my daughter’s friends’ house
which must have been verrrrrrrrry close to the airport
parked it in their front yard
quickly
jumped off
made my way to the plane and took off
upon my return
i went to their house
snowmobile had been moved
they were hosting a lively party outside
drinks and bbq and games and music
everyone in shorts, chatty and happy
when i saw them, i asked about it
they’d moved it to the side yard
having no idea whose it was
why it was parked there
i’d been in such a hurry i didn’t leave a note
people at the party were asking about it too
explained that i came on my snowmobile
to go the airport, of course
i got on it and headed home
thinking my solution had been quite simple, really.
when i woke up i remembered all of the details:
yet
as the morning unfolded
i found a less action-packed solution
while taking a snowmoblle
would have been fun transport
it might be a challenge because it is spring
it’s a bit of a distance
plus
i’m not sure it would be welcome on the tarmac
so close to that friend’s front yard.

Dreams are crazy, in a wonderful way, and I loved reading about this one. By coincidence I also posted about a dream today.
Best wishes, Pete.

awh – all the highly intelligent, sensible stuff we dream! but also, HH, in his sleep last night, figured that he had a teams meeting at 9am for which he had asked his coworkers 2 wks ago to draft their thoughts and that he HAD to have something to present and discuss in said meeting.
upon getting up early in the morning, he checked his mails if he hadn’t forgotten to ask (he hadn’t), he contacted the main character to ask why he hadn’t received the info, to be told, no, nothing was done on their side because – same as in HH’s case – the workload was simply too big to handle yet another demand…. ‘dreams’ can bother us, but they can also be really fun!

I like how our minds often continue to solve problems in our sleep. Even in an unusual way, the job can get done!
I had a bunch of funny/strange dreams last night.

me on a snowmobile would be a dream, of sorts… more like a nightmare, as the only time I was on one, was not good… (lol)

Driving around on a snowmobile in the middle of spring, in the middle of a dream, is totally plausible for someone who wears snow boots to bed in the middle of summer ..

Gotta love a dream that is so full of details that you can write about it and wonder where all those unusual threads came from.
