visiting friend’s lakehouse

woke up early

went to make coffee 

looked on the shelves

this is what i found

a whisper of real coffee

and a full tin of decaf.

horror in the morning.

  1. Gifting a pound here and there sounds like the perfect solution! Spread the word (and the grounds)!

    Reminds me, best coffee cafe name seen so far in my travels: Sacred Grounds. Loved it!

    • going to travel with a pound of coffee wherever i go, and gift it to the host. i should not assume that people love coffee as much as i do. )

  2. You were at a friend’s lakehouse and the previous guests left this? I don’t know about customs around your side of the globe, but I would have made sure that I’d leave at least as many provisions as there were when I arrived. Not knowing the actual situation, this might be a beautiful place to be (I mean, a lakehouse – has to be beautiful!) but not very appreciated enough by some to care for an equally beautiful welcome for ‘the next’.

  3. I’m such a ‘good, real’ coffee addict that, when we travel by car (usually to not a far away place) I take my espresso machine with us. Not to HH’s joy but then, he’s quite happy to have the ‘real stuff’ once we are at our chosen place! Good to go prepared.
