tranquility can be found most everywhere

not my class, but looks like they’re playing the game too.
—
when our class needs a break to calm down and relax
we play ‘the quiet game’
(an idea my daughter used when babysitting years ago)
which consists of nothing but lying down
not moving or making noise
yes, you can blink and breathe
last person left is the winner
sometimes there’s not even a winner
they just love to play
they even ask to play
i tell them they’ve been so good
of course we can play
a win-win, i’d say.

“quiet is peace. tranquility. quiet is turning down the volume knob on life.
silence is pushing the off button. shutting it down. all of it. – Amir”

“the important stuff will still be important by the time you get to it. the unimportant will have made its insignificance obvious or simply disappear. then, with stillness rather than needless urgency or exhaustion, you will be able to sit down and give what deserves consideration your full attention.” – Ryan Holiday, Stillness is the Key
after experiencing
every kind of spring/fall/winter weather front
in the span of a single whirlwind of a day
there is new light
in the early morning
with
a quiet dusting of snow on the ground
clouds in the sky
streaks of blue
and
a moon hanging high
we’ll try again.
