at the nature center for grandie v’s 6th birthday celebration

the scientist helps us to measure our wingspans

before we take a stroll outside to find this beautiful bird

rescued and healing a broken wing

whose wingspan we hope will return one day

and we are grateful to have our wings.

when grandie v and i

have finished building our indoor winter fairy village

with jewels and feathers and sparkles, a flower vine swing, love tape, and puff ball beds

it is very important to write about it and invite them to move in tonight.

“when I sound the fairy call, gather here in silent meeting,

chin to knee on the orchard wall, cooled with dew and cherries eating.

merry, merry, take a cherry, mine are sounder, mine are rounder,

mine are sweeter for the eater, when the dews fall, and you’ll be fairies all.”

“i would give money to people who need it”

(grandie b’s answer when asked what she would do if someone gave her $100)

kindness in words creates confidence.

kindness in thinking creates profoundness.

kindness in giving creates love.
