at the nature center for grandie v’s 6th birthday celebration
the scientist helps us to measure our wingspans
before we take a stroll outside to find this beautiful bird
rescued and healing a broken wing
whose wingspan we hope will return one day
and we are grateful to have our wings.

I love this. So our happiness (and other components of life) can be our wingspan. Brilliant, Beth.

Happy birthday. Our greatest gift to our children is wings, and curiosity. Have a wonderful day and week ahead.

Someday, those kids will spread their wings and fly away, just like the eagle. You’ve given them another great experience.

Isn’t finger to finger wingspan supposed to be the same as your height or did I make that up?

Spot on. He even measured me and it was exact

May the hearts they touch far extend past their wingspans.

This was a beautiful bald eagle, so sorry it hot injured.
When I went to the Mansfield Bird Sanctuary, a bald eagle had been hit by a truck and the truckdriver wrapped it up and took it there. They have a veterinarian surgeon who donates her time. They weren’t sure if this eagle would ever be “free” but they hoped so. I hope the Michigan eagle will fly freely one day. 🙂
