get dressed.

Standard

in the midst of the polar vortex

 a call goes out

a friend offers to drive us all to the movies

preston- holding down the fort at the theater

sells us popcorn, beverages, and tickets

menu offers a movie combo of cocktails and popcorn

 the movie was great

the company was great

felt like we were skipping school

to just have a day of fun

we forgot about the polar vortex outside

we laughed and cried

we’ll never tell who chose which beverage:

coffee, tall soda, sippy-cup ‘o wine.

choose your own adventure.

everyone needs someone who will call them and say,

“get dressed, we’re going on an adventure.”

‘there is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky.’

i’m not sure about today’s

hail, rain, snow, sun, wind, lightning, and thunder.

i suppose some could classify these as ‘luster’,

but probably not ‘harmony.’

where some see light, others see night.

Standard
The City of Ann Arbor Government
and the
US National Weather Service – Detroit
issued this statement yesterday:

We lost 38 seconds of daylight yesterday. By the end of the month, we’ll be losing over 2 minutes each day and by the end of next month, nearly 20 minutes per week. Here’s what you can expect as you savor the waning days of Michigan’s warm season:

July: -45 minutes lost
August: -1 hour 16 minutes lost
September: -1 hour 22 minutes lost
October: -1 hour 23 minutes lost
November: -1 hour 1 minute lost

It won’t be long until you have an extra 6 hours of darkness to spend on your indoor hobbies. Have a great Monday.

i think that someone may have been very hot and had a tough monday.
“we’re burnin’ daylight.”

a  michigan ice cream shop hopes its promotion will take away some of your pothole pain. farmhouse coffee & ice cream in franklin in metro detroit, is giving free scoops of its michigan pothole ice cream to victims of potholes in the state.

if you spent money on pothole repairs, just bring in your receipt for a free single scoop in a cup or cone of the michigan pothole flavor. what’s in that flavor you ask? it’s described as “thick black tar fudge in rich chocolate ice cream with cookie asphalt pieces.” the offer is good for one scoop per receipt. the promotion ends on March 25, 2018.

i’d say the fall pumpkins

are having a hard time

accepting the arrival of the winter weather

and wish it would all just go away.
