nothing like the feeling of wearing my spring dress and strappy sandals to school. ha – winter be damned, i was floating on air – swingy, breezy, light, summery! found out halfway through the day, at recess, that not only was my dress light as a cloud, it was also completely see-through. i only found out at that point because a fellow teacher described exactly what i was wearing under my dress while i was wearing it, and happily chatting away with her in the sun. thought back on all the places i’d been that day – beginning with a stroll past the administration at our faculty breakfast, greeting our children at the curb as they were dropped off for the day, a saunter past many parents in the hallways, a walk to another building on campus and a meeting with human resources, dropping off the kids at specials’ classes all over the school, lunch with 2 classes, and on and on. well, at least it makes me feel better about the day i wore my shirt inside out all day as i completed errands all over town. not so bad in comparison and it really puts things in perspective – i am now beginning to better understand how janet may have felt after her wardrobe malfunction at the super bowl. i wonder if we’ll have a dress code next year?

nope, still had 2 1/2 hours left in my day, and while i looked a bit odd after donning my fireman yellow rain coat and pearls in the 92 degree weather for dismissal, i was quite sure you could not see though it. and it was not inside out either. i suppose i kind of looked like a flasher but i guess that was a step up.

two things K. I refer to you as K because of your handle of ksbeth. Now i am OK to call you K as I have been for months. If you prefer me to call you something else you just tell me. I know your first name aint baby, is it Janet, or Ms.Jackson if I am nasty? Let me know.
and second it is usually customary to include some pictures with a blog like this. I am glad to know that you are a lady and are above such seedy displays.
Love you K

dear tomnardone; while i am known as ‘k’ to you, i am known to the world as ‘beth’ or ‘peaches’ depending on how you roll .while i have no problem at all with seedy displays, i am inspired to stay publishing on wordpress for some time to come, and while i may be banned from the blog world one day, especially when i step up my swearing quota, i have potential to be banned from the playground sooner. thx for the luv tomnardone

See ya next time

Hey it is not like you wore it on purpose. We all do things sometimes we later realize were a bad idea. I went to church one time in a scoop blouse that ended up being more scooped than I would hope. I think the priest got a view of things he shouldn’t when I went to communion, but it was not like I did it on purpose. I can sympathize that you would be embarrassed and am glad that you are taking it lightly and not beating yourself up. You always make me smile with your adventures. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! This post had me remembering the time I got up, took kids to preschool, went to the grocery store, dry cleaners, and library, picked up the kids from preschool and went back home — to discover that my son had peeled the strips off of MANY Kotex pads and stuck them down the back of my sweatshirt. Not one person I saw mentioned it to me.

That is hilarious! I’m sure the Kinders didn’t even notice. My kindergarten son has gone to school a few times with his shirt backwards and other questionable choices so a see through dress would be nothing to that lot…the parents of the kinders were probably too tired to notice too! I can’t speak for administration….they possibly had a good chuckle!!!

@motherhood – well, i think it was quite an experience for everyone i came in contact with. great thing about the kinders, they are very accepting of everyone and most anything )

Totally would have been a great teaching asset if you taught high school! Especially with the boys,.. My sympathy though, I’ve tucked a shirt in my undies in the back.. So feel your pain.

Read this to my youngest she really enjoyed it. My worst ever was when I was 16. I was swimming in finals at a national competition. I always disliked when they called my name and everyone cheered, so i usually took my tracksuit off at that time to distract me. Yes you guessed it. I pulled off my hoodie and t shirt only to realise i had not pulled up my swim suit! i got some cheer!! It took me forever to recover.

Many years ago I had to drive to visit a chemical works. I suggested to my mum that she came with me and she could visit the huge shopping mall near the factory. She agreed.
I told her I would only be 20 mins in the factory so she could wait in my car in the works car park. As I left her I pointed out that she had her jumper on inside out..
When I returned I noticed she had managed to put the jumper on the right way. Where did you go to change? I asked her.
Here in the car, there is nobody around, just lots of empty cars.
Mum I said, this is a chemical works… look at all the security cameras.. five guards will have watched your impromptu car park strip tease

That’s a great story, Beth! As a retired kindergarten teacher, I can relate to a lot of what you wrote, and what a busy day you had–most folks are in their own world and don’t notice anyway…but definitely, Janet’s situation was way, way worse. Thanks for following my humor blog–I’ll check back with you soon.
