(this is hope. she is not me, but is an enthusiastic re-enactor)
—
went to the gym
on what
had to be
the most
hopeful day
of the entire year
january first
new year’s day
first day
of resolutions kept
the energy palpable
electricity in the air
and sweat
and
postive thinking
and vim
and vigor
(a crack team of synchronized re-enactors)
—
with enthusiasm
brimming over
and cheering
and
a shared
spirit
we all
worked hard
while we
watched the rose bowl parade together
and
celebrated
our own
new coach’s
long-awaited
return home
and
each of us
believed
and
hoped
for our
own reasons
that
this was
just
the beginning
of
wonderful changes
coming into
our lives
at least for this day.

Yay, Jim Harbaugh…Loved him when he played here (well there in Mich but here will always mean Mich where sports are concerned) not so much at his antics while he coached the niners…he has his dream job…may he bring integrity back to U of M. Happy New Year, Beth.

I enjoyed your poem! I think the decision to exercise is probably the number one or among the top resolutions each year. I know it is always mine, which tells you that it didn’t last from the year before.

I was thinking of resolutions and ones that I could keep…
Toss out odd socks.
Toss out socks with holes.
I think I can do both. 🙂

Hope blooms eternal, Beth. While I won’t be in a gym working off those extra pounds I gained over the holidays, I will do my best to ‘shape up’ this year. Happy New Year.

What can I say? We can’t deny that Harbaugh is a great coach! Since you’re on my page, let me invite you to check out my latest posts. They’re quick, and to the point. It’s good hearing from you again. May our Lord Jesus richly bless you.

I love the optimism, Beth. Did Coach H really sign a contract through 2202? Oh, wait. That’s only seven years from now. Holy Guacamole!! Happy New Year, my Wolverine friend.
