JULY 3: THE START OF THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER
“dog days” originally referred to the period of the summer
when sirius, the dog star rose each day around the same time as the sun.
even though the two events don’t line up around this time as perfectly anymore,
it’s still the name given to
the really, really hot stretch of summer from july 3 to august 11.

That picture is too cute. Oh, to be that carefree..I’m visualizing my barbecue tomorrow..maybe I’ll turn the sprinkler on and invite the adults to run through it..HAHA! 🔆

Love this! We just discovered that our new dog, Sasha, loves to chase and bite at spraying water. That cute picture reminds me of her joy and lack of bashfulness as she leaps, twirls, and usually gracelessly topples to the ground in her pursuit of the water. Just to get back up and do it again. 🙂

something about spraying water just fascinates them and what a great attitude )

Shoot, we haven’t even had regular days yet, let alone dog days. I think it’s 20 straight days of rain…..

I know what you mean about the heat of summer because I am really feeling it now, and thanking clever minds for coming up with the electric fan and chilled water. !
