  1. That’s why I miss the kids who used to live up the alley. “What’s this, Martha?” I look, it’s shard from an old clay sewer pipe. I think, “Hmmm,” but the truth is the truth so I tell him what it is.

    “Really?” in a tone of total wonderment. “I’m going to keep it.”

    “Keep doing this archeology, Connor. It’s great.” I really, really miss them.
