not me, but the same look i get when i realize i’ve forgotten a part of my only joke, yet again.
—
i love to tell stories, laugh, talk, improv, and share amusing tid-bits
but for the life of me
i absolutely cannot tell a joke
forgetting a line
mixing up the order
messing up the punchline delivery
all that
and
i only have one joke
and that’s no joke.

i can tell stories that happened to me… anecdotes.
but never a joke.”

I have the same affliction. No matter how funny the joke, or how hard I try to remember it, the telling of it fails me. I feel your pain!

I’m with Lucille Ball. Personal stories are easier than jokes, and usually funnier.
Best wishes, Pete.

it’s tough pulling off a joke; I have a little bag of funny anecdotes I pull out two or thee times a year during big family gatherings; I add little touches each time; they seem to enjoy them 🙂

I’ve met people that can stand there and tell you joke after joke for an hour, I try to remember them but after three or four jokes I realise I’ve forgotten my repertoire! Lucille Ball was a genius of comedy!

I join you in the group of people who cannot tell a joke. And I often don’t “get” jokes told to me.

If I tell a joke, it has to be a story.

I have one joke I tell really well but it isn’t always appropriate.

Same here, but I think it’s because I have a hard time following linear rules and directions in general 🙂

Oddly enough, one first has to remember a joke in order to tell it. And offhand, I don’t remember any jokes. Maybe in the past … but I don’t recall.

Jokes are difficult to tell because you have to get all the words right.

Me too and I like those long story jokes that end in a bad pun so it’s pretty hopeless but Kicks are for Trids.

I’m like you, never a joke, always a story. Matter of fact, my favorite comedians are story tellers, not joke tellers.

I don’t think a lot of “jokes” are funny. Stories…are.

Most anecdotes are funnier than jokes. Everyday life has plenty of humor in it.

I enjoy telling jokes, but admittedly try to not relay very long ones because I’m always leery of getting “lost” in the joke, and at that point of course the joke is on me!
