kinder are on the lookout

making sure

the leprechauns

don’t sneak back in

to spread all the green

throughout our room again

but somehow they still got in

and worked their merry mischief.

  1. Oh, how I love this curiosity, this imaginativeness. This reminds me of my first grade granddaughter. Izzy contrived a leprechaun trap from cardboard, complete with a mini plastic pot of gold and a rainbow drawn on the exterior. She caught a leprechaun after I advised her mom that “you could just put a paper leprechaun in that trap.” She found an old assignment sheet with a leprechaun thereon, cut it out and placed the mini mischievous guy in the trap. The result: One happy leprechaun catcher!
