I didn't have my glasses on.... 
It works the other way round in the UK. Most people head south, in the direction of London.

Growing up in Michigan we always said we were “going up north” to the most beautiful part of the state. You knew you were there by the smell of the pine trees and lakes. What part are you headed to? I’m guessing Traverse city?
