(not me, and i don’t have a dog, but how i imagine many passengers react (inside) to my car singing)

during my weekday commutes
i spend my time
listening to books, radio, podcasts
and
singing along to a wide range of music
with mixed reviews.

“music doesn’t get in. music is already in. music simply uncovers what is there, makes you feel emotions that you didn’t necessarily know you had inside you, and runs around waking them all up. a rebirth of sorts.”

My wife is an enthusiatic ‘car-singer’. She can hold a tune though, and if Ollie is in the car with us he doesn’t take any notice whatsoever.
Best wishes, Pete.

I love cranking up the radio, rolling down the windows & singing at the top of my lungs!

one of life’s more mundane pleasures is listening to a music station on the car radio while driving: one pleasure enhances the other :)

One of my favorite quotes: “Where words fail – Music speaks.” Have you read that Matt Haig book? I did and I liked it a lot.

I read ‘the midnight library’ by him and loved it

I read it too! Fantastic read. Because of that one, I read How to Stop Time.

I love driving and cranking up the radio to sing along at full voice, but I leave the windows up out of respect for others. My driving is better than my singing.

That’s how our sweet dog looks in our living room when I decide to sing along, Beth! I totally get it.

There are worse expressions than the dog’s, when I try to sing. I LOVE music but have no voice for singing, ever. Love the video.

When on a car trip, my MUST HAVE is the CD of The Doobie Brothers Greatest Hits. Windows up, mouth moving, head moving, shoulders moving and even hands drumming on the steering wheel. After 3 consecutive play-throughs, I’ll switch to something else, but I always go back to it!

First, I sing. Then, I sing. Then, I sing some more. It goes on.

I used to be a car singer, especially on long, solo road trips. But I haven’t been on one of those in a long time. Around town I drive in silence so I can see better.

As for dogs in cars and the driver singing — Teddy loves to listen to me sing with the radio in the car. Especially Peaceful Easy Feeling. I think he thinks our pack is howling to reaffirm our bonds. I’m sure your hypothetical dog would love it, too.
