late night/very early morning april in ann arbor

waking up to sirens/alarms

the storm came quickly

a tornado touched us

 for a few moments

leaving its mark

blew through

much to fix

lots of mess

none hurt

a win.

    • yes, no worries really at my house, the entire town was lucky really, everything is fixable, except for the big trees of course, but all people are good and that’s what matters. crews set to work yesterday helping to restore things as soon as it was light

  3. I saw the news… 7 made touch down? Wow. Im glad you are okay, Beth.
    I hope property also avoided damage.
    About 12 years ago, a tornado ran through our street, missed our home by about 20 yards. Neighbors were not so lucky. But everyone survived.

  9. Yikes, that is very scary, Beth. I’m glad you’re ok! Are tornadoes common in your area?

    I find that in recent years, the occurrence of windstorms have increased significantly in my part of the world. Very scary to think what this will evolve too.

    As you said, things can be fixed. In these situations, truly a blessing!

    • no, they are very rare here, but as you said, wind has increased and our winter weather and rain and ice events are more extreme. you’re right that climate change is here –

  20. Glad everyone was okay. The storms were so bad. We had hail that I thought was going to break my windows. It was so loud, Bunny was afraid. Lightening that never stopped and 60 mph winds. I knew you would be getting it as well. Tornado warnings, but no touchdowns. I’m so sorry you were hit by one, but again, glad no one was hurt. Some of the things we share should have chocolate frosting, rather than thunder and lightening.

  23. I know this may sound weird, but I am here in Canton (Lilley and Cherry Hill) slept through it ALL! Awoke and had NO clue, until I saw my family’s FB post (they are in the Ford and Wayne Rds. area… taking cover, crazy skies, sirens… etc. glad everyone made it through
