Former U.S. President, Barack Obama and New York City Mayor, Zohran Mamdani
sit together to read and sing to children in New York
the room is overflowing with joy.

‘you can’t lead the people if you don’t love the people,
you can’t save the people if you don’t serve the people.’

note: the children guessed that Mamdani’s first name was ‘Mayor’ and did not know who President Obama was. At the end of their visit, the children gave them their hands to help them stand up from their little chairs because they ‘were older.’

It’s so nice to see leaders promoting a love of reading and literacy!
And the kids offering President Obama a hand to get up cuz he’s older is just precious. 🤣

Smiling…so big! Little hands helping the elders out of the kiddy chairs. I can picture it…because Mamdani and Obama totally won them over. Grateful to you for the Sunday smile, Beth. 💝💝💝

I love this so much, Beth. The joy. The reading. The fact that two leaders were doing this. The honesty of the children and their willingness to, literally, lend a hand. What an absolutely delightful photo and message you’ve shared today!

Leaders connecting with real life. Some…… have never experienced this in their life! Sad!

So cute. I saw and posted the video of their singing with the kids but this wasn’t part of it. And I love that the kids helped the “old” people to their feet.

don’t know whether Trump singing to children would work: might scare them off —

I would have loved to be a spectator. I can just imagine how they cracked up the children and each other.
