( not gracie, but a cute giraffe modeling being in a similar situation)
A 3-year-old giraffe named Gracie escaped from her enclosure at a Texas Hill Country ranch nearly two weeks ago and remains missing despite helicopter searches, reported sightings, and a $5,000 reward. Ranch owner Vic Jones believes she wandered through rugged terrain and exited through the wrong side of a gate. Authorities say Gracie poses little danger to people because she is in a remote, heavily wooded area with abundant vegetation and will have no problem finding food. Local officials and residents continue searching, though leads have often arrived days after she moved on, making recovery difficult.

she’s clever

Saw this on television yesterday and wondered how a giraffe could remain hidden for so long.

We had a wallaby on the loose. Poor thing – being kept illegally and surely not well. As long as Gracie is in an environment that is safe for her!

right! well it sounds like she lived close by, and was used to the environment, but still she probably longed to be free and ran to the trees

It does. And really, can you blame her for making a run for it? Nope…

There is an old law in Boise, Idaho that says you can’t fish from the back of a giraffe. Maybe Gracie is headed there.

Gosh, I do hope Gracie is okay. Such gorgeous animals – and I do know that giraffes can disappear even though they are still there! Been there in Botswana.

why would he have a giraffe? was she the only one? is she searching for herd. Poot thing first taken from her natural habitat and now fending for herself against who knows what prey animals. I hope she lands some place safe.
