the bike has moved into the garden

the chair has moved to the side of the road

the dinosaur has moved to the patio

 watching over the solar power

what do a bike, a chair, and a dinosaur have in common?

they are all objects found along the way

on an afternoon walk

that seemed to want to stay

none of them are far from home.

*Daniel Boone ( 1734 – 1820) was an American pioneer and frontiersman whose exploits made him one of the first folk heroes  of the United States. He became famous for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky, which was then beyond the western border of the Thirteen Colonies.

  4. Your bike reminds me of my husband’s motorbike which he bought and planned to fix up. Only it got left in the garden and much to his friend’s amusement nasturtiums had grown over it. It looked much more like a garden ornament 😀

  5. The subjects on objects
    can be complexed
    seeking shade under an annexe
    sitting atop the tallest apex
    lounging around poolside decks

    But in all due respects
    they are like insects
    crawling over council projects
    clogging drains and goosenecks
    and concexly perplexing
    for vexed government architects

  23. It makes one wonder how long those objects have been sitting there. We used to make a regular drive to see my wife’s family. There was always one object I looked forward to seeing: a toilet sitting in the middle of a big field. Then, one day, it was suddenly gone. When something is out of place, it grabs our attention.
