Maya, Yoko and Beth on a Saturday morning. With coffee. NIce. That persevering skate brings my mind to how they actually used the canal system in Holland and the Netherlands to get around in winter. Ice skating: mandatory. Imagine that.

could there be a more unlikely trio? though those are the kind of groups i most enjoy. hope your coffee kept you warm today and that your skates are sharpened. )

This brings up a funny story…
My husband and father in law were on a recent trip to Oregon for business. My husband said that in the time they went inside a restaurant and came out the street had iced over and they had to call a cab to drive them a block to their hotel!

This winter, Spring is definitely desirable! The line from Yoko Ono, incorporating the word, “perseverance,” just struck me to be the perfect word for our temperament this 2014, so far!

You would have had a fun gathering, with the trio you and Mark were mentioning above! Caffeine or wine… could have gone either way with that crowd! Smile!
And the snow ‘ain’t over yet,’ Beth! I was pleased that somehow my car this morning was not buried but when my daughter in law came by to pick up her kids (from their overnight and our Filipino party we attended yesterday) she had lots more inches of snow!! She studied where I parked, between some buildings and said, “Come back and park here after you blog, this seems to keep you out of the path of snow!” We both hugged for this good idea! Smiles, Robin

I remember trying to shove my two pairs of socks into the slightly too small skates from the previous year and how the tightness helped keep me up once skating. We used to go to my friends house after when her mother wasn’t home and drink all of the Swiss Miss hot chocolate in the house :)

Around here, people break out the skis and snowshoes (ice not so common). I’m not one of them. I stay inside and enjoy not having to drive in such conditions.
