mother goose waits patiently on a rock in the river
luckily she has lots of stories to tell until baby’s big enough to swim.
“rock and roll is music, and why should music contribute to…juvenile delinquency?
if people are going to be juvenile delinquents,
they’re going to be delinquents if the hear… mother goose rhymes.”

I am proud to have graduated into full-blown adult delinquency, but I don’t blame the music.

I was so surprised to see her there, not in a nest on the shore

So cool, Beth. I haven’t seen a goose with an egg, but I’m waiting to see lots of little goslings about soon.

yes, and hopefully this one hatches soon

A wise quote from young Elvis…. our Aussie singer Doug Parkinson, who passed away this week sung a great version of ‘Dear Prudence’ back in 1969…

That’s a wonderful sight, Beth. But an odd place to lay an egg for sure.

yes, and I wondered about how that happened

That goose might be kinda loony. Their nesting habits usually involve a certain lushness, grass, moss, and such. Incubation is about 25 days, so that’s gonna be hard on that rock. But they lay more than one egg, so that one might be an “oops.”

Exactly what I was thinking- walked by today and the egg is alone on the rock and mom and dad ate on the shore. Hmmm….

That’s interesting that she lost that egg on that stone. Hopefully, she will take care of it anyway.

Love the photo and who can argue with Elvis?

So much easier to blame things that have nothing to do with anything, rather than blame the establishment for how it destroyes people.

What an inhospitable place to lay an egg. Here’s hoping the creek don’t rise.

I have such an aversion to these geese. I think it’s because they’re pretty indiscriminate. This little egg is cute, though lol

It is, but I’m a bit worried about it being stranded out there for a while

Elvis and Mother Goose—the unlikeliest of duos. That egg looks suspiciously like a golf ball—just sayin’.

I bought that very book many many years ago… and listen to the King. All I need to do now is pick up some delinquent behaviors.
