An important point, Beth! Our votes today will impact future generations. We are choosing the world our kids and grandkids will grow up in. Great reminder to us all, my friend!
“If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.”
… Mahatma Gandhi
I hear/read comments like, “This election probably won’t affect me one way or the other.”
And as I am pretty close to the end and there will be no grandchildren, I might agree.
But we must think about and vote for the future of all the young and those yet to come.
I feel like I walked across the street to our polling place, Beth, and cast my ballot for all the people in the past who fought and struggled for democracy and all the people in the future that I want to experience its glory.
Yes! We are often out of the country on Election Day. Somehow, that makes our voting seem more important to us. We have to jump through some hoops to get it done before we leave.
I’ve thought often about voting for the young in this election. We have a 21-year-old running for county commissioner in my district. I was incredibly happy to see his name on the ballot. He’s informed, well-spoken, passionate, compassionate and more and already has a history of civic involvement. He gives me hope for the future.
Great point made with that quote. We often hear about destroying the Earth’s natural resources at the expense of our children’s future, but not so much when it comes to getting out and voting on their behalf.

We cannot commiserate on the state of our government today if we stand back and do nothing to try to improve it! Vote early and vote often! HA HA HA

I wonder how many voters actually think about what the ramifications will be from their vote.
