stumbled upon this old ad
for what may have seemed the perfect solution
to the age-old dilemma:
what to choose when caught between the seasons?
hot soup or cold drink?
why not just combine them?

I’m in two minds about cold soup. I have been served my share of Consomme at various functions over the years, but cold ‘jellied’ soups always seemed so wrong to me! Given the choice, I like my soups hearty and hot. 😊
Best wishes, Pete.

Dump some whiskey into it and you might have something. Mmmm…. split pea and Johnnie Walker.

I have actually done room temp tomato basil (Pacific brand, not Campbells condensed) when I had no way to heat up a cup. It was good. I would pass on the ad recommendations however. ;)

I am not going for cool temp soup nor warm temp soda, Beth. I have to stand for something in this life I figure.

I really enjoyed reading this Beth. I love seeing what they made so many years ago. I don’t think I would ever make them as I am not a canned soup (especially cold) person unless I use them in a recipe. Thank you for sharing this!
