boring.

Standard

the doctor asked me

the usual litany of questions

general health, lifestyle, habits, history, medical issues

she was excited to find that i was not on any medication

her happiness continued on through the list of ‘red flag’ questions

as i answered no, no, no, rarely, on special occasions, safely, long ago

 heard myself reciting my answers

finally blurted out that i must be really boring

she told me that is exactly what doctors want to hear

i made her day, but now i’m left wondering how to kick it up a notch.

  1. I am fine with boring, no problem because I always sweat the “small stuff”, I think that is what I live for, the small things…lovely post. Wishing you a very Happy New Year’s Eve and all the best for 2021, hopefully we will be free and able to return to the old normalcy that we left behind in March of 2020. God bless!

  2. I have a smart trick that I have been using for many years (currently it is paused for other reasons). I play badminton with my doctor, as long as the doctor is allowed to win – I have found out so long she doesn’t find any fault or defects about my person. A pure win win situation for both of us. 😀 😀 😀

  3. Up a notch? Pick a day every month and call it Tequila Day. You don’t have to drink tequila, but just knowing you have a day called Tequila might make your ratchet click. And it would probably make your physician laugh.

  4. Boring is good in this context. Even though I’ve had some health blips that have been resolved, I’m not on any meds either and the big 60 is coming up quite rapidly. So, Cheers to good health and a brighter new year, Beth! 🥂💕
