For a single minute at 7:15am, EST, on Friday, July 8, 99% of the world’s population was (7.688 billion people) either in sunlight or twilight and could simultaneously spot the sun in the sky. It’s a minute in time that only happens once a year. The only countries not under sun in that minute were New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Antarctica.
It’s hard not to see, but admittedly if someone wasn’t watching for the phenomenon that unfolded Friday morning, they could have definitely missed it. This does call into question what it means to be seeing the sun. According to the website timeanddate.com, while the claim is technically true, the number of people perceiving sunlight is a bit lower – about 93% of the world’s population.

traverse city, michigan, usa – summer 2022

Last year, Pabst Blue Ribbon offered its gigantic 1776 beer offering. While the powers that be thought that 1776 was just the right number last year, it appears that 2022 has the iconic beer brand going bigger, jumping right to the 1844 pack.
According to Nick Reely, Vice President of Marketing – Pabst Blue Ribbon, this summer’s offering is all about going bigger, basically one upping themselves. “That was really the genesis of the 1844 pack; 68 more beers than our original big box, while also paying homage to our heritage and founding year and trying to lend a hand to our consumers across the country. While that number is brewed in history, not everyone will be able to get their hands on this special offering. Only 250 of the special packs have been made and it’s unclear where they can be purchased.
But, if you do happen to find this, there is a big question to ponder.
Who will you share all the beer with?
happy 4th of july!

while at the airport waiting for a flight to arrive
the voice of a cheerful tsa agent came on the intercom:
” attention, attention, all in the terminal!
if you are walking around
with your pants falling down around your knees
come back and see us at the tsa checkpoint,
we have your belt right where you left it!
