celebration, at long last.

Standard

( festive artwork that was a precursor to the night’s joyful celebration)

seeing this painting upon entering the room

where my dear friend

finally had the chance

to have the wedding she’d always wanted

delayed by two long years of pandemic

i knew it would be a memorable celebration

that really lived up to the artist’s vision

and then some.

“all great celebrations break away from the mundane.”

(a candid moment from my recent fiesta)

my goat and i would like to thank

each and every one of you

who help me

celebrate every day

(the best day ever)

by being a part of my life.

kindlfest/midnight madness.

Standard

at the annual ann arbor city-wide celebration

a wonderful band from russia plays live

and the crowd can’t get enough

with tons of warmth both inside and out

i may have agreed with a couple of little people

after a very fun evening

with daylight savings time in play

that it was ‘midnight’

as the bells chimed a different time.

“instead of hate, celebrate.”

as mg and i prepare to head out

for an irish breakfast

in celebration

of st. patrick’s day

we feel lucky.

we both

still have

most of our

fur

and

teeth

and

a taste for

good music

holiday beer

adventure

and

good cheer.

he is the one on stage left.

you gotta try your luck at least once a day,

because you could be going around lucky all day and not even know it.

it has been said that a scotchman has not seen the world until he has seen edinburgh; and I think that I may say that an american has not seen the united states until he has seen mardi-gras in new orleans.
