horror.

at the haunted house

while waiting to enter

the performances began

 fire dancers

monsters

pumpkin head

evil clowns

lasers, smoke

even a bad dj – (‘diablo -international dj’)

like being caught up

in a campy carnie rave party

and then

we went in

for a long stretch of terror

adrenaline pumping

my startle response at full tilt

a creepy clown jumped out of the dark near me

my reflex reaction was a quick punch to its face

(the clown bent over in pain, and i felt so bad i hugged it!)

the man behind me said

‘i thank you for that, now i feel safe’

we continued on

through a creepy water illusion room with an uneven floor

a tight fabric tunnel we had to push our way through

spider webs sticking to our faces

monsters crawling on the floor

mirrors, doors, ramps, screaming, darkness, banging, running

quite a wild ride

but we made it out intact

and my heart is beginning to calm a bit.

maintain a distance of at least one alligator between each other.

Officials all over the country can’t stop emphasizing the importance of practicing social distancing to slow down the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now leaders in Leon County, Florida, are giving people an interesting visual to help them maintain the proper distance from others.

“This is a reminder that during COVID 19, please remember to keep at least 1 large alligator between you and everyone else at all times,” Leon County said on Facebook.

To slow the spread, officials are enforcing stay-at-home orders and urging citizens to practice social distancing, by standing 6 feet apart.

“i’m also fascinated by the difference between terror and fear.

fear says, “do not actually put your hand in the alligator,”

while terror says, “avoid florida entirely because alligators exist.”

it was the perfect night

for the

corn maze terror

9 of us went in

3 of us made it

all the way through

hangnail moon

chilling  wind

corn up to the sky

eerily waving us in

dark silo in the back

watching it all

and

scary things

so many terrifying things

all along the way

walking out of the corn

and

standing behind us

and

calling our names

and

chasing us

IMG_0978

scary pic of me hiding in the corn

right at the beginning – excited and scared both

we ran

we startled

we got lost

we shrieked

we fell

we ran more

we tried to

clutch onto each other

 sometimes to strangers

yelled our lungs out

and

somehow

made it to the end

a little bit braver

and

for at least one of us

a lot more scared

than when we went in.
