‘c’ is for breakfast.
after spending the night at daughter #3s’ house
i woke up early at my usual farmer time
everyone else still fast asleep
hunted and gathered food items from their kitchen
soon realizing i had put together a ‘c’ themed breakfast
that was quite satisfying –
coffee with cream, chocolate cookies, cheetos cheese things, computer
i believe all food groups were well represented.
i know this guy might think that ‘c’ is only for cookie, but —

light show/jump on the beds/stay up late

art is community.
‘los trompos,’ (spanish for spinning tops)
a giant spinning top art installation,
visits detroit’s beacon park from mexico city
the eight giant, colorful tops, designed by *héctor esrawe and ignacio cadena, are large enough for multiple people to sit or stand inside them, and visitors are welcome to take a spin. they were designed to facilitate play, celebrate culture, and bring people together to interact and connect. Los Trompos is an interactive piece that comes to life when people engage with it. the tops are based on the construction of the actual toy and reflect the work of mexican artisans, as well as mexican culture, art, and architecture.

in the midst of the polar vortex
a call goes out
a friend offers to drive us all to the movies
preston- holding down the fort at the theater
sells us popcorn, beverages, and tickets
menu offers a movie combo of cocktails and popcorn
the movie was great
the company was great
felt like we were skipping school
to just have a day of fun
we forgot about the polar vortex outside
we laughed and cried
we’ll never tell who chose which beverage:
coffee, tall soda, sippy-cup ‘o wine.
