surrounded for a long weekend by big people who choose to live creative lives

working daily with little people who quite naturally live creative lives

i realize they are the same kind of people

who are, in spite of everything,

open, honest, vulnerable, full of wonder, bravery, creativity, joy, passion, and spirit

i feel such an admiration for them and kinship with them.

where my dear friend

finally had the chance

to have the wedding she’d always wanted

delayed by two long years of pandemic

i knew it would be a memorable celebration

goofing off to celebrate one holiday,

while actively ignoring the clutter of the other holiday.

how incredibly lucky

that right after i realized it is

‘clutter awareness week’

i found out it is also

‘international goof off week’

so i decided to go all in on the goof off celebration.

i’ve never been one to shy away from honoring a holiday

but i can only spread myself so thin.

Fat Tuesday is here and bakeries and grocery stores area ready!

Paczki Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, (leading into Lent, for those who celebrate), rolls around every year accompanied by its calorie-heavy treat. One Paczki is actually called a paczek, but you can never have just one. The fried doughnuts are known for their Polish roots. More traditional styles contain fruit fillings but jellies, custards, creams and glazes have made their way into the holiday.
