when i got this box
and quickly
glanced at it
something
told my imagination
that the amazon guy
who never saw
or met me
or had any idea
or cared in the least
who i am
was
paying me
a bizarre compliment
then i realized
it
was just
a bit
of
dyslexic trickery
and
ego speak.
after a night spent
with mayhem
and mischief
and fun
in
peaches’ cottage
while mom and dad have a date
and
ending up
on
the longest night ever
tucked into the loft
nestled with
nacho the cat
and
babies j and b
then
we wake up to another day
the shortest day
and
find our zen.

am feeling
quite celebratory
though apparently
not everyone
will have a holiday
beginning
in the same time frame
and some
may be feeling
a bit
differently.
